Thomson & Comrie Invoice 1860

Thomson & Comrie Invoice 1860

This is probably the earliest example of a Thomson & Comrie Invoice and the only one that seems to have survived from Sandy Creek, the original name for Tarnagulla. It may have been issued in the Jones's Creek Store.
Thomas Comrie joined the firm of Thomson & Turnbull at Jones's Creek / Waanyarra in 1857 and after its dissolution in 1858, joined George Thomson as a partner to form the firm of Thomson & Comrie. A branch was opened shortly after at Sandy Creek which was renamed Tarnagulla in 1860.
